Thank you for your interest in the AJI Reporting Fellowship. The fellowship, which launches in September 2023, offers aspiring journalists a two-year educational program that prepares them for careers as credible, non-partisan reporters in the nation’s capital or wherever their work may take them. Students learn core skills from respected professional reporters and editors in a classroom setting, and they gain real-world experience by working in an actual newsroom. Students are paid an annual stipend of $60,000 so that they can live in the Washington, D.C. area and devote their attention and energy to the fellowship. (For more information, see our main website and this introduction to the program.)
The below application is due by 11:59 p.m., Eastern, on May 31. We plan to interview finalists and announce decisions in June. Students who enroll in the program would be expected to relocate to the D.C. area by early September.
